Davenport

A Perfect Place to Visit

Davenport is a good place to live, with its good transport links, useful shops and profusion of trees giving a feel of the countryside.  The 'blue-flag' Cale Green Park is opposite the station and includes a crown green bowling green, tennis basketball and netball courts and a kids' playground.

Stockport Cricket Club was founded in 1855 and moved to Cale Green in 1883.  Stockport Lacrosse Club is next door and is the oldest Lacrosse Club in the world having being formed in 1875.

Stockport with its many facilities is just a short train or bus ride away.  The trains heading away from Stockport offer an instant transfer to the countryside, with pleasant walks along the Middlewood Way and Peak Forest Canal 15 minutes away and the Peak National Park within half an hour.
