How we bury, mourn and remember the dead
For thousands of years people have sought to give their dead a respectful burial and to remember them in some way.
Using objects from Stockport Story Museum’s collections this fascinating exhibition will take you on a journey through time to explore the complex beliefs held by the Ancient Egyptians, the funerary monuments of the Ancient Britons and the lavish funerals and mourning traditions of the Victorians; as well as present day traditions and some of the interesting and unique burial sites in Stockport.
And the Exhibition is free!
