The Frank Capra film It’s a Wonderful Life is a Christmas staple as popular as our own Christmas Carol. It tells of George Bailey, the Bedford Falls Samaritan saved from suicide by a Guardian Angel who shows him all the good he has done, is a celebration of friendship and neighbourliness.

Depending on your world view, it’s either deeply uplifting or causes the cockles of your heart to combust in protest at so much vigorous warming.

This adaptation from the original Philip Van Doren Stern book The Greatest Gift has all your favourite characters: George and Mary Hatch, Clarence, Uncle Billy, Violet, and, of course, the Scrooge-like villain, Mr. Potter.

This fine dramatisation not only celebrates the faith of the season, it also applauds the philosophy of life: that goodness, self-sacrifice, humility and friendship, not power, money and ambition will, ultimately be rewarded

‘No man is a failure who has friends’

7.45pm - £10.00 (£9.00 students)
