From Lostock Gralam station a short walk brings you to the Trent & Mersey canal.
A walk of just less than two miles takes you along the canal to the Lion Salt Works, a preserved example of the brine extraction method of salt production in Victorian times.
Note the Lion Salt Works is currently closed and under restortation to become a major local tourism attraction.
Lostock Gralam station is within 500 metres of the Lostock Triangle Business Park, currently being developed.
A new commercial building and car park is planned for Lostock Gralam station.
