With a thriving modern shopping centre, an historic core, and a family leisure complex located next to the train station, Stockport is a town of contrasts with plenty to offer.
The railway station is only 10 minutes walk from Edgeley Park, the home of Stockport County Football Club and Sale Sharks, and is very well connected, with direct regular services to London, the Midlands, Wales, Yorkshire and other parts of the country. A free shuttle bus runs from Stockport station, every 12 minutes, to the Merseyway, Peel Centre and Market shopping areas.
The town is home to a number of award winning visitor attractions including the Air Raid Shelters, Staircase House, Stockport Story Museum and the Hat Works whilst the Transpennine Trail goes into the heart of the town centre.
