Where to Visit

Wallasey

Virgin Voyager heads North

A Perfect Place to Visit

Grove Road is Wallasey Village's other station. At the north end of The Village, the main road leads to the promenade and coastal park. The promenade passes here, running from the 'Gunsite' around to Seacombe, a total of over 7 miles.

The sand dunes of the North Wirral Coastal Park are situated between Leasowe Bay and the Gunsite Picnic Area. They are bordered on one side by the Wallasey Golf Club, and on the other by the Leasowe Golf Club. They once formed a natural defence against the sea and gave shelter from the strong sea winds but recently they have been subject to considerable erosion.

Wallasey Golf Club is a classic links with.most of the course is played through sand dunes. Wallasey is a superb test of golf for players of any standard and was a Final Qualifying course for the Open Championship when it returned to Royal Liverpool in 2006.

The annual Wirral Show provides a full programme of family events, shows and attractions and has one of the largest outdoor funfairs in the country.
